Poppy seed buns from yeast dough, recipe with photo

On weekends, my brother and I always went to the village to visit my grandmother. And as soon as we arrived, two huge bowls were already waiting for us, in which there were poppy seed buns, and a decanter of fresh homemade milk. Grandmother baked so many buns that she had enough to eat in the village, take with her on the road, and still remained at home for a week ahead. That was childhood! Recipe for homemade buns with poppy seeds from yeast dough.

1. Dilute sugar and salt in water at room temperature until completely dissolved. Pour yeast and 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, mix everything well.
Milk can be used instead of water. The liquid for yeast dough should be at room temperature.

2. Add the sifted flour in small portions and knead the dough.

3. The dough should be soft, but at the same time, it should not stick to your hands.
Leave the finished dough in a warm place for 30 minutes to let it rise.

Yeast dough for buns with poppy seeds can also be kneaded in a bread machine. Just put all the above ingredients in the same order in the bowl of the bread machine and set the "Dough" mode. After a certain period of time, the dough will be ready.

4. After the yeast dough has decently increased in volume, it must be kneaded, divided into 2-3 parts and rolled into a layer.

5. Brush the yeast dough of your choice with vegetable (refined sunflower) oil, melted butter or margarine using a spoon or kitchen brush.

6. Shake the dough with poppy seeds so that it evenly lies on the whole dough.

7. And then also shake the dough with sugar.

8. Roll the dough with poppy seeds and sugar into a roll.

9. Cut the roll into pieces, the thickness of the roll is about 5 centimeters.

10. Pinch one edge of the roll so that the filling does not leak out. Place the buns on a baking sheet cut side up. The shape of the dough now resembles rosebuds. Slightly "fluff" the roses to make the buns look more spectacular.

11. Be sure to cover the baking sheet with parchment paper or grease with vegetable oil.
Leave in a warm place for 20-30 minutes for the buns to increase in volume.
Then put in an oven preheated to 170 degrees. Estimated baking time is 30 minutes.
