Puff pastry rolls with cheese and mushrooms

Puff pastry rolls stuffed with two types of cheese and champignons are perfect for a family breakfast or evening gatherings with guests. To prepare them, we need a small amount of ingredients that can be easily found in any store. In addition, the filling can be changed to suit your taste and the set of products that is in the refrigerator.

For example, you can use ham, boiled chicken, olives, cheese or cottage cheese with herbs and garlic. Today I decided to cook a classic - extraordinarily tasty and fragrant puff pastry rolls with cheese and mushrooms. This combination is not to be missed!

Ingredients:

  • 500 g puff pastry without yeast
  • 50 g hard cheese
  • 100 g melted cheese
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 onion
  • 350 g champignons
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil
  • small bunch of parsley
  • salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper

How to cook puff pastry rolls with cheese and mushrooms:

Take out the puff pastry from the freezer. It must be thawed at room temperature so that it becomes elastic and rolls well.

Grind two types of cheese on a coarse grater: processed and hard. Let's combine them in one bowl.

Peel off the garlic clove. Pass it through a special press or rub it on a fine grater. Add garlic to the cheese to give the filling a pleasant aroma.

We wash the parsley, dry it with paper towels from excess moisture and finely chop with a knife. Pour the chopped greens into the cheese mixture.

Wash fresh mushrooms. We clean the mushroom caps, cut the mushrooms into a medium-sized cube.

Peel and dice the onion following the recipe for puff pastry rolls with cheese and mushrooms.

Fry it in vegetable oil until transparent, then add mushrooms to it.

Continue to fry the ingredients together until all the liquid that comes out of the mushrooms during cooking has evaporated from the pan. At the end, salt and pepper the mixture to taste. Let the mushroom filling cool down to room temperature.

Roll out the puff pastry into a layer 3 mm thick, as required by the recipe for puff pastry rolls with cheese and mushrooms.

Put the cheese mass on the dough and level it so that the layer is even.

Spread a layer of fried mushrooms with onions on top.

Gently roll the workpiece into a tight roll. I have puff pastry in the form of plates, so I made 2 small rolls. Cut each into pieces 3 cm thick.

Put the rolls of puff pastry with cheese and mushrooms on a baking sheet, previously covered with parchment, with the cut side up.
