Empty houses, like gingerbread without packaging (including when they are hung on a Christmas tree) dry out very quickly, therefore they are not edible, and our cake for the New Year, Christmas or a winter birthday is prepared without voids - it is tasty, satisfying and abundantly greased cream.

I suggest preparing a small cake so that it is easy and convenient to fix all the architectural elements. The basis of the house is a cake without baking Chocolate sausage, the recipe of which is familiar to most housewives ().

Instead of Chocolate sausages as strong and tasty base for our confectionery architectural project - a sweet house, you can use other cakes, the cakes of which are firmly cemented with delicious butter cream and the body of the cake is strong enough, does not crumple and does not go to the sides. That is, in this confectionery-architectural design, lightweight and wet biscuits with sour cream, they are good for making soft pastries like Sancho Panza or Turtle cake.

The foundation

For home decoration: roof, windows, doors, pipe, etc.

  • Ordinary cookies (such as Jubilee, Baked milk, Sugar, but with the addition of cocoa - chocolate) - 5 pcs. (+ 5 spare);
  • Sweet curd- 200 g;
  • Sour cream - 50 g;
  • Orange - 1 pc.;
  • Confectionery dressing;
  • Wafer rolls - 4 pcs. (+ 4 spare);
  • Dry breakfasts (white stars) - 1.5 glasses (go both to the house and to the yard);

For glaze

  • Powdered sugar - 200 g;
  • Milk or cream - 1-1.5 tbsp.;
  • Or a bag of ready-made glaze

For the courtyard of a sweet house

  • Breakfast cereals ( cornflakes) - 0.5 cups;
  • White marshmallow - 4 pcs.;
  • Coconut flakes - 1 package;
  • Orange - 1 pc.;

I've always loved the traditional gingerbread houses that are sold in pastry shops around the world for New Year and Christmas. I have tried to make them at home more than once and I must admit that I have not achieved much results. But since I didn't want to give up, I learned how to make such miniature houses based on the Petit Beurre cookies I eat for breakfast. And I use them as a decoration for the New Year's table.

And here they are, New Year's houses made of sweets on a stand: colorful, funny and deliciously smelling.

Ingredients and tools:

  • dry biscuits like Petit Beurre;
  • glaze; a bowl; gummies and marmalade;
  • cutting boards;
  • tablespoon;
  • pastry bag.

Step 1. To make a cookie house, you first need to prepare the icing. Follow the directions on the package and do not make it too runny.

Step 2. Spoon the icing into a piping bag (it is often sold with icing ingredients): you will need it both for gluing the various elements of the houses and for decorating them.

Step 3. The construction of houses should be started from the frontal facades. Very delicately (using a serrated knife), cut the two cookies so that each forms a triangle. For precision, you can cut along the holes in the biscuits. Then glue the triangles to the rectangular cookies using icing. And if you are a keen culinary specialist, then you can make cookies with your own hands that are suitable in terms of hardness and size.

Step 4. The next step is to make the base and side walls of the house. Before gluing the cookies with icing, you need to trim them slightly around the edges.

Step 5. When the base and side walls of the house are held together, add frontal facades to them.

Step 6. Let us leave our structure for 10 minutes, so that everything is thoroughly dry. Then we glaze the upper edges of the walls and glue the roof of two cookies.

Step 7. Thoroughly coat the roof, especially at the joints, covering the cookies with icing. Decorate the roof with some gummy candies that have been cut in half.

Step 8. And then we start decorating New Year's cookies: we decorate the facades of houses with sweets or pieces of candied fruit, giving free rein to imagination. Each candy house can be decorated in different ways.

New Year and Christmas are wonderful and magical holidays that both adults and children are looking forward to. Christmas and New Year's house made of cookies and straws - an incomparable decoration festive table... And over a cup of delicious and aromatic tea it will be very appetizing to disassemble it! Design:

  • salty or sweet straws - 200 grams;
  • round sweet cookies 4-5 pieces;
  • kernels walnuts 7-8 pieces.

For glaze:

  • egg whites - 3 pieces;
  • powdered sugar - 2/3 cup.

Initially, you need to prepare a glaze from proteins, which will connect all the edible parts. Separate the whites from the yolks and put them in a bowl, add the powdered sugar. Using a mixer, beat the mass until a dense, stable foam, as for a meringue.

We prepare the straw from which we will make the walls. We will make two paired walls wide, and two narrow ones. Details must be made of the same height. We break the straws of the required length with our hands and spread them on a flat surface close to each other.

When the wall blanks are laid out, they need to be glued. Spread on one side along the entire height with protein glaze. Let the walls dry, that is, each twig grab onto each other.


Let's move on to the “fence”. To do this, take the two longest straws, grease them with protein foam. Break the other sticks into small pieces and apply them to two "pickets". We leave the fence to dry.


When the walls of the house are dry, with the help of icing cream, we connect the rectangular structure, lubricating the joints well. We install the future New Year's house on a tray or plate, smearing the places at the base with protein cream for greater stability.


Next to the house, along the perimeter of the tray, we put a fence, sinking it in a "snowdrift" of squirrel.
Walnuts need to be crumbled, laid out a path in the courtyard with them.


We proceed to the roof. It is better to do this when the structure grasps a little. We put two straws obliquely on each side (with a triangle). When they dry, along, lay out the longest.
Thoroughly pour the top with protein glaze and sprinkle with chopped straws.
We make windows and doors from round cookies.


The New Year's house will be backlit. We use candles in the sleeves.

We light candles and enjoy the creation on New Year's or Christmas evening!


Advice. Nuts can be replaced with marmalade or sweets. For the roof, you can also use crackers, peanuts and dragees.

When you want to please your loved ones and bake something truly fabulous for them, you can safely try to bake a gingerbread house. This delicious dessert does not require special baking skills, however, you will have to devote some time to it to create a real tasty fairy tale.

Gingerbread house recipe step by step

The gingerbread house "Fairy Tale" itself consists of three main components:

  • Suitable small multi-colored candies;
  • Protein glaze (icing);
  • And a gingerbread base.

From candies, ready-made round lollipops like M&M "s are best. But the icing and dough need to be prepared.

Making gingerbread house dough:

There are a lot of options for a suitable dough for a gingerbread house. The main condition is, when choosing a recipe, that the dough is plastic and shapes can be cut out of it. For this purpose, you can use it with a minimum of ingredients, or you can knead the traditional dough for the New Year's gingerbread house.

Option 1. Honey-spicy dough

You will need:
3 cups high quality sifted flour
4 tablespoons of honey;
100 g of dry granulated sugar;
50 g of fatty butter;
2 eggs;
1 heaping teaspoon of regular baking soda
2 tablespoons (optional) of cognac;
50 ml of water;
1 teaspoon spices (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg)
Trays;
Parchment paper;
Gingerbread house templates.

Step by step cooking:

Pour water into a deep vessel. Send honey, sugar and butter here.

All ingredients need to be heated. In this case, it is very important to ensure that the mixture does not boil. The approximate heating temperature is about 70 degrees.

Then spices and half of the measured flour must be sent to the mass. We do not remove from the fire!

Stir quickly with a spoon or spatula to brew the dough, avoiding the formation of lumps.

Advice. If, nevertheless, the lumps could not be avoided, the sieve can save the situation. Simply rub the prepared mixture through it and the mixture will become evenly homogeneous.

In this form, the future dough must be allowed to cool. Then eggs and cognac are sent here.

And only then the remaining flour is added to the dough. At this stage, you need to knead it well so that the mass turns out to be very smooth.

From finished dough we roll up the ball, wrap it with cling film and send it to a cold place for 1 hour.

After that, you can cut out the future details of the house from the dough by rolling it out and using templates.

It is necessary to bake all the details on a baking sheet covered with parchment, in an oven preheated to 190 degrees, for 15-20 minutes.

Important! Make sure that the cakes do not dry out. Hot, they should be soft and only after cooling, the baked goods harden.

Option 2. Honey and ginger dough

You will need:
250 g fresh fatty butter;
1 cup dry granulated sugar;
80 g of natural honey;
2 fresh chicken eggs;
750 g sifted high quality flour;
1.5 tablespoons of ground ginger (can be replaced with fresh grated root);
1.5 teaspoons of baking soda;
1.4 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Trays;
Parchment paper;
Templates for the walls of the house.

Preparation:

Putting a deep vessel on water bath, mix sugar, spices and honey in it. The mass must be stirred frequently until the sugar is completely dissolved. After that, here, without stopping to warm up the mass, add eggs and butter. Now everything needs to be mixed well so that the dough turns out without lumps.

Next, add soda to the brewed dough and mix well again. And the final stage in the preparation of future cakes is the addition of sifted flour to the mass. After that, everything must be kneaded until the dough begins to lag behind the walls of the vessel.

As such, the dough rolls into a ball and cools.

At this time, you can prepare the baking sheet and oven. We heat the oven to 180 degrees, and cover the baking sheets with parchment paper.

You will need more templates for the house. You can choose any options.




After that, the chilled dough must be rolled out and the structure of the future gingerbread house cut out of it. Bake the individual parts for about 7 minutes.

Well, when all the cakes are baked, they need to be connected with glaze, and then decorated.

Preparation of glaze (icing)

You will need:
1 egg white;
150 g sifted icing sugar;
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Note: all components are in minimum proportions and required amount can be calculated based on how much finished glaze you need for decoration.

Preparation:

Using a whisk, beat the cooled protein without trying to achieve a strong foam. The mass itself should be just foamy and white.

Then add powdered sugar to the protein and stir everything well.

At the end we add to icing lemon juice and stir again thoroughly.

House assembly

Now we will figure out how to make a gingerbread house. To connect all the details, it is necessary, along the edge of the cake, to generously apply glaze and attach the necessary part of the future gingerbread house to it. In this form, the cakes to be joined must be held back a little so that the icing grabs.

This is how all the details are connected: walls, roof, etc.

Then the house can be decorated.

To do this, the glaze is placed in a pastry bag with a not very thin tube attachment. Drawings can be applied both to the already formed gingerbread house, and to its individual parts.

How to do this depends on your imagination. You can draw stripes, spirals, snowflakes, snow and other decorative elements. Well, on top of the finished gingerbread house, you can generously sprinkle with small sweets.

Here are some options for decorating an elegant dessert.

After that, the finished gingerbread house, the fairy tale can be served for the festive New Year's table... Surely, it will become one of the main decorations of the upcoming feast. Perfect for Christmas too!

Don't forget to decorate the door of the house. To do this, cut a semicircle in the upper part of the cookie-door rectangle, coat with cream and attach to one of the walls of the sweet home. Decorate the roof, facade and "territory" around the house with the remains of the cream and prepared sweets. Fill the remaining free areas of the dish with cream, decorate it with icicles and snow on the roof, spread sweets and gingerbread figures around the house.
