Santa Claus cake recipe. Pie "Santa Claus" from yeast dough

Pie "Santa Claus" - a recipe for the competition!

I present to your attention a recipe for New Year's pastries from our regular reader Olga.
I really liked the cake! So simple - and so original!
We already have two pies - we already have Christmas trees, and here is Santa Claus for them 🙂
Be active, dear readers, send your recipes, New Year soon!!! 😀

I propose to decorate New Year's table beautiful, bright cake in the shape of Santa Claus.

Yeast dough:

Flour - 4.5 tbsp
- sugar - 0.5 tbsp
- dry yeast - 2.5 tsp
- milk - 125ml
- water - 0.25 cups
- drain oil - 100g.
- eggs - 2 pcs.

Decoration:

Yolk - 2pcs;
- raisins - 2 pcs;
- beet juice or food coloring.

How to make an original New Year's cake in the form of Santa Claus:

Prepare the dough, allow to distance.

After the dough has come up, divide it into 2 unequal portions.

Roll out most of the dough in the shape of an elongated triangle, with rounded corners for the head. Divide the smaller part into 2 more pieces. Smooth the first with your hands, giving it the shape of an oval - this will be a beard.

With a sharp knife or scissors, cut the beard into strips 1 cm wide.

Take the beard with both hands and gently put it on the face of Santa Claus. Carefully separate the beard hairs from one another and twist slightly. Form a mustache, nose, headdress and pompom from the remaining dough. With a knife, make 2 cuts for the eyes, insert the raisins.

Beat in a bowl egg yolk, add red food coloring or beetroot juice. Stir, use a culinary brush to apply it on the nose, cheeks and hat of Santa Claus. Beat the yolk separately, brush over the rest of the dough.

Another two or three weeks and we will all gather with our relatives or friends for the rich beautiful table to celebrate the New Year.

While preparations are underway for the holiday, each hostess will ask a question - how to decorate the table in order to emphasize the solemnity of the event and, at the same time, surprise the guests. Why not put the very thing in the center of the table, Christmas decoration- sweet Santa Claus?

You can make a mini-game as a feature of the evening - to the chimes you have to make a wish and eat a piece of Santa Claus to make it come true :-) You can bake a note with a wish in his beard, and then congratulate the lucky one who got it.

Santa Claus prepared according to our recipe is very fragrant. Smells of muffin, vanilla and cinnamon will fill your home with coziness and warmth. Even if one of your guests did not come "in the spirit", the aromas of baking will dissolve his bad mood without a trace.

Recently, it has become fashionable to make handmade gifts, so why not bake with your own hands and give Santa Claus.

Let's get over the laziness on these pre-holiday days and please our loved ones with sweet Santa Claus, especially since it is not so difficult and not as long to cook it as it seems at first glance.

Ingredients:

  • Flour - 3.5 cups;
  • Sugar - 2 tablespoons;
  • Vanilla sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Butter - 6 tablespoons;
  • Egg - 1 piece;
  • Egg yolk - 1 piece;
  • Dry yeast - 7 grams;
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon;
  • Milk - 1 glass;
  • Red food coloring;
  • Raisins - 2 pcs.

How to cook butter Santa Claus:

Step 1

Melt the butter. We heat the milk to 30 degrees.

Step 2

Sift flour into a deep bowl. Add yeast, sugar, egg, salt, milk and butter and knead the dough.

Step 3

We put the dough in a warm place for 2 hours. It should double in size.

Step 4

After 2 hours, knead the dough and divide it into 2 parts.

Step 5

We spread one part on baking paper and roll out the layer, giving it a pear-shaped shape, as shown in the photo. This will be the head of Santa Claus.

Roll out part of the dough

Step 6

Divide the remaining dough into 3 parts.

Step 7

We roll out the two parts into layers, giving the shape of a semicircle. We cut each layer with a fringe. These will be blanks for Santa Claus's beard.

Step 8

First, put one blank on the head and form a beard from the strips. Then, on top of the first workpiece, lay out the second one and also form a beard.

We lay out the blanks on the form

We make a mustache in the same way, add a nose.

Step 9

We bend the upper part of Santa Claus's head obliquely to form a hat.

Bend the upper part.

Step 10

From the remaining dough we form 2 small balls and 6-8 strips. We make a mustache from the strips, one ball will be the nose, and the other will be a pompom on the hat.

Step 11

Lubricate with a part of the yolk the beard, the face of Santa Claus and the pom-pom on the hat. We dilute the remaining yolk with red dye and paint the cap and nose with it.

Step 12

Making eyes out of raisins.

Step 13

We bake Santa Claus in a preheated oven at 200-220 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

  1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan until it starts to simmer, then remove from heat and cool to 45 ° C. Mix with yeast and let stand until foam forms, about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour the yeast mixture into the bowl of a stand mixer equipped with a dough hook. Add sugar, butter and 2 eggs and stir until smooth.

    Add flour and salt and stir on medium speed until the dough comes together. Switch to a medium high speed and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.

    Transfer the dough to a lightly buttered large bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let stand until the dough has doubled at about 1 hour.

  3. Preheat oven to 180 ° C and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  4. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface. Separate 1 piece of dough the size of a golf ball and roll it into a ball, this will be a pom-pom for Santa's hat. Separate 1 piece of dough the size of a ping-pong ball and roll it into a ball - Santa's nose. Cut a strip of dough 2.5 centimeters wide, 23 centimeters long, a little over 0.5 centimeters thick and roll it up with a sausage, this will be the border of the cap.

    Cut another piece of dough into a 5 cm wide, 12 cm long, a little over 0.5 cm thick strip. Make cuts on the strip from the middle and stretch slightly with an accordion to form a mustache.

  5. Roll the remaining dough into an elongated diamond, the top edge of the diamond is twice as wide as the bottom edge. Place the diamond on the prepared baking sheet with the elongated side up so that the edge hangs down.

    Using scissors or a knife, cut a little over a centimeter across the wide side of the diamond, stopping at an imaginary line where the top and bottom triangles meet. Take each strip of beard and twist it, tuck the braids in rows so that they look like a beard.

  6. Fold the overhanging corner of the dough so that it resembles the tip of Santa Claus's hat. Place a long sausage of dough in the upper half of the triangle where the end of the cap begins, and tuck the ends of the sausage under the sides of the triangle; it turned out the border of the Frost cap.

    Place a large ball of dough on the tip of the cap and press down lightly on the pompom. Place the mustache on top of the beard, then place a small ball over the mustache to make Santa Claus's nose.

  7. In a bowl, beat the remaining egg and cream. Using a cooking brush, brush the egg over the surface of the dough, including the pompom and the border of the cap, but not the surface of the cap. Add food coloring to the egg mixture, stir, then brush the surface of the hat thoroughly with the red lezon, being careful not to get on the pompom and border.
  8. Bake until the cake is golden brown and baked in the center, this will take 20 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and immediately place the chocolate granules in the places where Santa Claus's eyes should be.

    Let the cake cool for 10 minutes on a baking sheet, then place on the cooling rack. Cover up parchment paper hat, nose, and cheeks, and dust the uncovered portions of the pie with icing sugar. Remove the paper and serve warm with butter.

    When weighing flour, spoon it into a measuring container and clean off the resulting slide. (Scooping directly from the bag thickens the flour, resulting in dry baked goods.)

How to make a Santa Claus pie with your own hands

This cake is made from yeast dough. Therefore, it is quite simple, but keep in mind: you will need additional time for the dough to fit. Therefore, it is better to start cooking these pastries not in the evening of December 31, but a little earlier. First, for the perfect yeast dough, stir the dry yeast in a bowl and 2 tsp. Sahara.

Add a little warm milk (no more than 50 ml) to the dry mixture, mix and place in a warm place. The just extinguished burner of a gas stove is perfect for this: the yeast will quickly "start working" in the heat, and the dough will rise in a neat hat.

While the dough is rising, take a large bowl and break one into it egg(leave the second to grease the cake). Stir the egg with a fork until it is almost uniform and add the vegetable oil to it.

If the dough has already come up, gently pour it into a bowl with egg mixture, stir and gradually add the remaining milk and sugar.

Salt the mixture (just a pinch of salt is enough) and gradually add flour to it, stirring the dough with a spoon. The yeast dough should be soft, tender, but at the same time not sticky to your hands. Roll it into a ball, place in a bowl, cover with a cotton towel and place in a warm place to come.

Open the bowl a little after an hour and check to see if the dough has increased. If the mass is already twice as large as it was, then you can begin to create the physiognomy of Santa Claus!

Line the baking sheet with parchment. Remember, you added vegetable oil to the dough? Thanks to this, the dough will not stick to the parchment, so there is no point in greasing it again. Knead the risen dough again with your hands and divide it into two parts: immediately take the larger one into action, and leave the smaller one for decoration. Roll out most of the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 1 cm. Shape this mass into an elongated pear with a pointed top. Spoon the dough onto the parchment.

This "pear" made of dough is the future face of Santa Claus with a hat. Wrap the top edge of the dough down and move it slightly to one side: this will be a hat. From the smaller part of the dough that is waiting in the bowl, tear off a small piece, roll up a ball and stick to the tip of the cap to make a bamboos.

Tear off another piece from the dough, a larger one this time. Roll a thin sausage out of it and place it horizontally under the hat. With this formidable eyebrow, grandfather will turn out to be slightly gloomy, but also funny. Place two raisins or two dried cranberries a little below - these will be the eyes. Well, stick another ball of dough under them - a nose.

Divide the remaining dough into two parts again: large and small. Roll the large one into a horizontal rectangle and cut its bottom into strips 1 cm wide (this is a blank beard, and at this stage it will look like an ad with tear-off phone numbers). Place the future beard in the lower part of Santa Claus's face, and twist the thin strips of dough to make it look like a curly beard. From another piece of dough, mold a mustache and place it under Grandfather's round nose.

Turn on the oven and set the temperature in it to 180 degrees. While the oven is heating up, break a second egg, stir it with a fork, and then whisk the mixture onto Santa Claus. You need to cover everything with an egg except for the grandfather's eyes: thanks to this, the cake will turn out to be ruddy and very appetizing in appearance.

Place the sheet with the future pie in a heated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes.
