Cooking time: 30 minutes.

A very tasty and simple recipe for 1 can.

Products:

  • ripe plum - 700 gr;
  • orange - 300 gr;
  • white crystalline sugar - 700 gr.

Cooking process

First, let's prepare the plums: rinse thoroughly with water and divide into equal slices, carefully remove the seeds. They can be easily removed if the cream is cut lengthwise.

Then we peel the oranges, cut off the peel and white veins. As a result, one pulp should remain, which we will cut into small slices.

Pour chopped fruits into an aluminum bowl, add sugar and mix. Cover the basin with gauze and leave it for 6 hours to let the fruit juices. If the juice is not enough, then 1 glass should be poured warm water.

Now remove the cheesecloth and put the fruit to simmer on a small fire, bring the sweet mass to a boil. Then we simmer for 50 minutes, stir periodically. Remove the resulting foam with a slotted spoon. As a result, the jam should boil and the fruit should become soft. To keep the plum-orange dessert color, add citric acid or pour in freshly squeezed lemon juice. The dessert will become more aromatic if you add chopped walnuts, dark chocolate, ginger root.

Wash a jar with a lid, sterilize and fill with hot jam from plums with orange to the top. Pour the hot sweet mass slowly over a spoon so that the glass does not crack.

Roll the jar tightly so that the jam does not stand out from under the lid. Then turn the container upside down and wrap it in a terry towel. We leave it in the room for 8-12 hours to cool down, and then transfer it to the basement for storage. We periodically check the sweet preservation for swelling of the lid: we do not use the spoiled product for food because of the risk of poisoning.

Let's prepare the fruit: divide the plums into halves and remove all the seeds. We will not cut the plums with a sheath, so that they retain their integrity after cooking. But peel the orange and cut into small pieces. Orange slices will give the jam a special aroma and taste. The crusts can be thrown away, dried and used when brewing tea in winter.

We transfer the fruits to a container where we will cook the jam and fill it with granulated sugar. You do not need to stir the fruits, you can only shake them slightly, the crystals will melt anyway.

After 2-3 hours, put on the stove and cook the jam over low heat. We boil the fruit and after 40 minutes of slow simmering, the citrus jam is ready.

Put hot jam in pre-washed and dried jars, filling the container up to the shoulders.

Roll up the lids and let cool completely under a warm blanket. We store the finished jam in a regular pantry. It is important that the sun's rays do not fall on the banks.
