For a typewriter ideal option seemed quite easy to do at home. And the ingredients seemed to me not too unusual.

I made two types of mastic. The white part is for machine parts in the form of glass, disks and headlights. And the brown part is for covering the cake and car body.

Reading that powdered sugar must be fine-crystalline or sifted, I did not attach much importance to this. But it turned out in vain. Of course, the mastic did not tear, as some were afraid, but the quality and plasticity suffered significantly. And during the tasting, the mastic was somehow too heterogeneous, with grains. Next time I will definitely sift it.

Chocolate mastic is prepared according to the following recipe:

Melt marshmallows and chopped chocolate in different containers in a microwave oven and mix.

Add cognac, cream and butter, stir until a chocolate liquid mass. Then add powdered sugar in the same way as in the first recipe. Pour in until a thick "plasticine" dough.

Wrap both mastic doughs in foil and leave in the refrigerator to "rest" for half an hour.

At this time, the machine body can be prepared. I chose marshmallow sticks. It took 6 bars, first 4, then 2 more on top. I rounded the edges a little so that the machine was not square.

To clear the mastic from the powdered sugar that helped you roll out the layer, you need to brush it with vodka or alcohol with a brush. It will evaporate quickly, and the mastic will become shiny. The mastic is afraid of water, so we do not process it with water. And put a layer of mastic on a dry cake. I didn't really like this idea, so I still missed the cake, but sprinkled grated cookies on top of the cream. It turned out great. Cake in the fridge.

Let's take a machine:

She rolled out a thin layer from a white piece of mastic and cut out the details with improvised means. Knife squares for glass: side and front-rear. With a jar of vitamins I made circles - blank discs. For greater similarity, I made 5 small round holes in the circles with a juice tube. And I also cut out small semicircles - these are the headlights. I rolled up a tourniquet from the remaining mastic and molded the number "5". I left all the details to dry.

I wanted to make the wheels of a different color. Therefore, I took a dry dye for easter eggs and some water. I got a very thick paint, which I carefully combined with chocolate mastic. The dye was blue, and I expected to get a dark brown, almost black. However, the blue-green color of the wheels came out.
I rolled a "sausage" and cut four circles - wheels. Has dried. I also made the blue number "5" for testing, but did not use it. It remains to assemble the machine.

Glue the mastic by wetting it with water. With an ordinary brush, treat the surface of the wheel and disk and press down - you get full wheels. Glue the headlights and glass in the same way. The machine was installed on the surface of the cake for the boy.

The process of making mastic

To make cake mastic, fresh marshmallows are crushed, placed in a deep bowl, and then placed in the microwave. The sweet product is kept in it for 30 minutes. Then the warmed marshmallow is thoroughly kneaded with a spoon. After that, it is mixed with powdered sugar and vanilla. If necessary, the resulting mass is divided into separate portions and added. In this composition, all the ingredients are thoroughly kneaded by hand until an elastic and pliable mastic is formed, which ceases to stick to the hands.
